Launched in 2014, the Blossom Trust Graduate Financial Support Program aims to assist underprivileged students in Sri Lanka, enabling them to complete their higher education and secure brighter futures. The program is a collaboration between Blossom Trust, Jaffna University, Eastern University, and other educational institutions.
Program Impact -

By providing financial assistance, the program empowers underprivileged students to finish their degrees, enhancing their career prospects and improving their families' future stability.

Our commitment to supporting underprivileged students is driven by a long- term vision. Through education, these students gain access to better opportunities, enabling them to build successful careers and improve their quality of life. 3. Alleviating Financial Stress
Financial constraints often prevent students from low-income families from pursuing higher education. Blossom Trust aims to reduce the financial stress faced by these families, by providing monthly financial support, to cover expenses such as course registration, transportation, accommodation, food, internet browsing, research work, and assignments. This support enables students to focus on their studies without worrying about their financial circumstances.
4. Collaboration with Government Support
Our student financial support scheme works in conjunction with government-supported programs such as Mahapola and Scholarships. By complementing existing government initiatives, we enhance the financial aid available to students. This collaborative approach ensures that beneficiaries receive comprehensive support to meet their educational expenses and improve their chances of successfully completing their degrees.
5. Guaranteed Government Employment:
Upon graduating, students have the assurance of securing a government job within 4-5 years. This added benefit provides students with a pathway to long-term stability and career prospects, further solidifying the impact of their educational journey.
Job Opportunities Post-Graduation-
1. Teaching Profession
Graduates with specialized education degrees, such as B.A. Hons and B.Ed., are highly sought after for government teaching positions in schools, colleges, and universities. These graduates have a guaranteed pathway to secure employment in the teaching field.
2.Development Officer
Government departments call for applications from graduates for development officer positions. Candidates undergo interviews and are selected based on their qualifications and suitability for the role.
3.Graduate Appointment Scheme
Government departments periodically invite applications from graduates and conduct interviews to determine suitable candidates for employment. Successful graduates secure job placements through this appointment scheme.
24Teaching Profession for Non-B.Ed. Graduate
Graduate of any speciality are called for Govt. teaching jobs from School, Colleges and University and they guaranteed to secure the job.

Selection Process -
1. Open Application
The university invites students to express their interest in availing financial support beyond the government assistance by submitting their applications.
2.Shortlisting
All received applications are carefully reviewed based on the specified criteria, a shortlist of candidates is created. These individuals have demonstrated the potential to benefit from our financial support scheme, and their applications show promise.
3. Final Approval
Following the detailed review, our team of trustees approves the final selection of students who will benefit from our financial support scheme. The approval is based on the students' alignment with our objectives and their potential to thrive academically and positively impact their communities.
