Graduate Financial Support Scheme

Home - All Projects

Launched in 2014, the Blossom Trust Graduate Financial Support Program aims to assist underprivileged students in Sri Lanka, enabling them to complete their higher education and secure brighter futures. The program is a collaboration between Blossom Trust, Jaffna University, Eastern University, and other educational institutions.

Program Impact -

1. Empowering Students

By providing financial assistance, the program empowers underprivileged students to finish their degrees, enhancing their career prospects and improving their families' future stability.

2. Long-Term Vision

Our commitment to supporting underprivileged students is driven by a long- term vision. Through education, these students gain access to better opportunities, enabling them to build successful careers and improve their quality of life. This long-term investment in the education of underprivileged students contributes to breaking the cycle of poverty for future generations and believes that supporting these young individuals can create a positive ripple effect in their communities’ Long-term vision securing the future of a youngster and his family.

3. Alleviating Financial Stress

Financial constraints often prevent students from low-income families from pursuing higher education. Blossom Trust aims to reduce the financial stress faced by these families, by providing monthly financial support, to cover expenses such as course registration, transportation, accommodation, food, internet browsing, research work, and assignments. This support enables students to focus on their studies without worrying about their financial circumstances.

4. Collaboration with Government Support

Our student financial support scheme works in conjunction with government-supported programs such as Mahapola and Scholarships. By complementing existing government initiatives, we enhance the financial aid available to students. This collaborative approach ensures that beneficiaries receive comprehensive support to meet their educational expenses and improve their chances of successfully completing their degrees.

5. Guaranteed Government Employment:

Upon graduating, students have the assurance of securing a government job within 4-5 years. This added benefit provides students with a pathway to long-term stability and career prospects, further solidifying the impact of their educational journey.

Job Opportunities Post-Graduation-

Graduates with specialized education degrees, such as B.A. Hons and B.Ed., are highly sought after for government teaching positions in schools, colleges, and universities. These graduates have a guaranteed pathway to secure employment in the teaching field.

2.Development Officer

Government departments call for applications from graduates for development officer positions. Candidates undergo interviews and are selected based on their qualifications and suitability for the role.

3.Graduate Appointment Scheme
